Why Consistency, SEO, and Google Business Profiles Matter More Than Ever in 2025
An Interview with Digital Trailblazer, Amanda Willis
Amanda, you talk a lot about consistency. Why does having a consistent marketing strategy across platforms matter so much?
Because inconsistency confuses people—and confused people don’t buy. If your Instagram is playful, but your LinkedIn is stiff, and your website hasn’t been updated since 2021, it looks like you don’t really know who you are as a brand. Studies show that presenting your brand consistently across all platforms can increase revenue by up to 23%. Consistency builds trust, and trust is what drives sales.
What’s the difference between posting online and executing a real marketing campaign?
Posting is throwing content at the wall to see what sticks. A campaign is strategic—it’s tied to a goal, a timeline, and measurable outcomes. For example, instead of just saying “We sell salsa” every week, a campaign might be: launch a three-week series featuring salsa recipes, testimonials, and a promo code, then track sales and engagement. That’s how you move from “noise” to “results.”
Everyone’s buzzing about AI right now. How should small businesses embrace AI and AIO without getting overwhelmed?
Start small. AI can help brainstorm content ideas, draft email subject lines, or even analyze customer reviews. AIO (AI Optimization) is about making sure AI tools like ChatGPT can find you when customers ask, “What’s the best auto shop near me?” or “Where can I buy local salsa online?” To do that, your site needs clear, structured content and FAQs that AI can easily pull from. Think of AI as both your helper and your new search engine.
SEO has been around forever. How is it getting smarter in 2025?
Google isn’t just looking for keywords anymore—it’s looking at behavior. Does your site load fast? Is it easy on mobile? Do people stay or bounce? That’s why user experience is now central to SEO. One stat I love: a site that loads in under 3 seconds has a 32% lower bounce rate. So yes, keywords matter, but the bigger picture is how helpful your site is to actual humans.
“Marketing isn’t about being everywhere all at once, it’s about showing up consistently, with purpose, where your customers already are. SEO, AI, and AIO are just the tools. The real work is building trust and staying top of mind.”
What are your top three takeaways for a business that wants to grow online today?
- Get your Google Business Profile in order. Profiles with photos get 42% more requests for directions and 35% more click-throughs to websites.
- Invest in fresh, helpful content. Updating blogs, FAQs, or product descriptions with real answers keeps you relevant in both Google and AI search.
- Think long-term, not one-post-at-a-time. Campaigns with consistent messaging across email, social, and web outperform single-channel efforts by 300%.
Last one—why is the Google Business Profile such a big deal?
Because it’s often the first thing people see before they even hit your website. Over 90% of consumers use Google to find local businesses, and your profile is where they’ll check your hours, read reviews, and click “call now.” If you’re not optimized there—with up-to-date info, reviews, and photos—you’re basically leaving money on the table.
